Several days post the powerful storm hit western Jamaica with unprecedented strength, people in damaged neighborhoods along the coast are still desperately waiting for assistance.

Numerous thoroughfares are clogged with rubble and residents remain cut off with limited provisions, no power or running water, and no idea of when normalcy will return.

Rising Death Toll

The government said on recently that at least 28 people in Jamaica have died since the hurricane hit as a monster category five storm with winds reaching 185 mph.
